Know Your Fulton County Property Tax In Two Ways

The Tax Commissioner sets the Fulton County property tax based on several factors. These include the appraised value, assessed value (i.e., 40% of the appraised value), and exemption status of the property, as provided by the Board of Tax Assessors, as well as the millage rates provided by the Board of Commissioners.

The Tax Commissioner then uses these figures to calculate the appropriate annual tax for each property. The tax bills are then mailed to the property owners at the addresses provided by the Board of Tax Assessors.

What do you do when you have yet to receive your tax bill yet you want to know your Fulton County property tax? You have two ways to do it, both of which can be done via the Tax Commissioner’s website.

#1 Search for Your Tax Bill

If you have information about the property’s complete or partial tax parcel identification code, or account number, or physical address, you can use this website. The steps are relatively simple and the results are fairly quick:

  • Select the type of property, which can either be real estate or personal property
  • Select the type of information that you want to enter, which includes parcel identification code, or street address, or account number; and
  • Click the Search button to start your request about the current Fulton County property tax for your property

You may encounter difficulties with searching for your property tax. You can keep these tips in mind:

  • Ensure that the format and spelling for the information entered are accurate.
  • Enter partial information in case you are unable to get results using the address or parcel identification code. For example, instead of 98-5689-LL-423, try 99-5689.
  • Enter more information – be more specific – if you are getting too many search results. For example, include the street number with the street name in the search bar.
  • Avoid entering unverified information into the search bar.
  • Do not use periods after abbreviations as these can affect the street direction.

With the correct information entered, you should get information about your Fulton County property tax soon enough, thanks to the computerized system.

#2 Request for Multiple Parcels

If you have accurate and complete information about parcel identification for real property, you can use the tax summary request for multiple parcels option. To use this option, you should follow these steps:

  • Select the property type (i.e., real estate or personal property)
  • Enter the complete parcel numbers (i.e., parcel identification, property location, tax district, city and total)

Once you have the desired information about your Fulton County property tax bill, you can choose to pay your taxes through the Tax Commissioner’s website, too. You can pay with your credit card but take note that a convenience fee may be imposed for the service.

You are well-advised to pay your Fulton County property tax on time to avoid payment of interest and penalties on the principal amount. All taxes that have remained unpaid after their due dates will be subjected to 1% interest per month, a one-time 10% tax penalty, and additional charges.
